Section 5310 Program

Section 5310 Program Introduction:

Section 5310 is a federal grant program provided by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and is intended to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation service and expanding transportation mobility options. It supports transportation services by providing funding for both traditional (capital) and Other (operating) projects beyond what is currently provided in the community.

The Section 5310 grant program is open to private nonprofit organizations, states or local government authorities, and operators of public transportation. Typical projects include the purchase of accessible vehicles, mobility management programs, and operating support of volunteer driver programs or demand response services.
