Spokane Valley, WA – Spokane Transit Authority (STA) is excited to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Mirabeau Transit Center taking place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The public and community partners are invited to join STA at the new facility, located at 13209 E. Indiana Ave., Spokane Valley, for a celebration featuring brief remarks, refreshments, and a first look at this key addition to Spokane Valley’s growing transit network.
The Mirabeau Transit Center opened to riders on Sunday, March 9, 2025, and expands transit capacity to better serve Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake. It upgrades the operational capacity compared to the former Mirabeau Point Park and Ride that was located on the same site. Designed with both current and future riders in mind, the Mirabeau Transit Center improves convenience and connectivity for those traveling both east and west, including future service beginning this September to the Spokane International Airport. Wednesday’s event will be the new center’s official opening.
“We’re pleased that STA continues to grow transit service as our community grows,” said Spokane Valley Mayor and STA Board Chair Pam Haley. “The new Mirabeau Transit Center represents a major step forward in improving accessibility and connectivity for our residents as they commute not only through Spokane Valley, but through the region.
Mirabeau Transit Center features include:
- More parking – additional park-and-ride spaces for commuter convenience
- Enhanced security – surveillance cameras installed on the platform and in parking areas
- Future-ready infrastructure – space reserved for future electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
- Route connections – serves Routes 74, 32, 97, and 771 to improve access across the region
- New sidewalk connection to Pines Road
“This facility is a major step forward in STA’s commitment to expanding and modernizing our regional transit system,” said STA Interim Co-CEO and Chief Planning and Development Officer Karl Otterstrom. “It improves service reliability, enhances safety, and prepares us for future mobility needs.”
