Service Impact Wednesday August 20: Sheriff Sergeant Salas Funeral Procession

There will be significant impacts Wednesday, August 20 to STA service within the City of Spokane due to the funeral processional for Spokane County Sheriff Sergeant Kenneth Salas, a 34-year veteran who was killed in the line of duty. Routes 6, 11, 22, 25, 27, 28, and 35 will be on detour from 9:30 AM to 3 PM, though delays are expected throughout the system between 11 AM and 1 PM.

There will be full road closures for the procession; details and maps below.

Procession Details:

  • Washington/Stevens (Spokane Falls Blvd to Boone) → 9:30am–3:00pm
  • Staging: Assembly St. (Francis and Wellesley) →10:30–11:30am; approx. 100+ vehicles.
  • Departure: 11:15am traveling south on Assembly, NW Blvd, Ash St, Broadway Ave, Monroe St, Boone Ave, Division St, Spokane Falls Blvd, and Washington St.
  • Closures:
    • Assembly St. (Francis and Wellesley) →10:30–11:30am
    • Division St. (Sharp to Spokane Falls) → 11:00am–12:30pm
    • Washington/Stevens (Spokane Falls Blvd to Boone) → 9:30am–3:00pm
